Globe Wheelers gear up to set a new record.
London to Nashik on Wheels
Globe Wheelers is a group of adventure enthusiasts from Nashik. "A World Without Boundaries" is their motto and they believe that the cultural and geographic diversity around the world is too precious to be divided by political barriers.
"London to Nashik" is their first cross country expedition on wheels and is scheduled for about 45 days. The journey starts on the 8th of May 2015 from Trafalgar Square, London and will culminate at Nashik. The distance to be traveled is over 17,000 kms.
The 3 members group includes Mr. Sanjeev Bafna, Head of Seva Automotives, Mr. Rajendra Parakh, Director, Gajra Udyog and Mr. Ashish Katariya, Director, Ashoka Buildcon Limited.
The route opted by Globe Wheelers makes this expedition the first of its kind. From London they move to Brussels, Berlin, Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga, Moscow, Astana, Bishkek, Kashgar, Tibet, China, Kathmandu and finally Nashik.
The entire route poses huge variations in culture, geography, road conditions, weather conditions, driving regulations and political sensitivity. The team will have to overcome the challenges posed by these variations.
The most exciting feature of this journey is this rendezvous that the riders shall have with the extremes of the world. For example they would be driving at 'Altitude Zero' in Riga and at over 18,000 feet in the Himalayas. Similarly they will be face to face with the Atlantic Ocean during one part of the journey and would be standing at the base of the giant Mount Everest on the other.
Globe Wheelers have chosen Toyota Fortuner, for this expedition. They have taken training from Toyota Experts, to understand the car better. The car has been moved to London via sea and is ready to begin the adventure.
